Tahun 2020 akan ada Bus Gratis di Jogja. Adanya bus gratis ini dari bantuan Kementerian Perhubungan yang akan memberikan bantuan sebayak 28 bus baru untuk DIY. Selama setahun masyarakat dapat memanfaatkan bus – bus ini secara cuma – cuma atau gratis.
Dinas Perhubungan Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta merencanakan rute baru dan titik – titik pemberhentian bus gratis ini. Ada tiga rute di Sleman yang rencananya akan mulai beroperasi pada April 2020. Titik pemberhentian ini tidak sama seperti Trans Jogja yang menggunakan tangga / shelter, tetapi hanya diberi tanda sebagai lokasi pemberhentian bus.
Penentuan titik pemberhentian ini disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan masyarakat. Selama ini masyarakat mengeluh sulitnya mengakses transportasi dari 3 rute ini yaitu di Godean, Ngaglik dan Ngemplak. Total ada 23 titik di trayek Godean, 28 titik di trayek Ngaglik, dan 15 titik pemberhentian di trayek Ngemplak.

Jalur Godean
- Pasar Godean – Kantor Kecamatan Godean – Neutron Yogyakarta Godean – Kantor Desa Sidoarum – Jalan Nogotirto – Giant Godean – Mirota Godean – SMP N 11 Yogyakarta – Pasar Klithikan Pakuncen – Pasar Serangan – Terminal Ngabean – Warung Soto Kadipiro III – SMP N 1 Kasihan – PMI DIY – Pasar Loak Gamping – Perempatan Jl. Bibis – Pasar Tiban – Perumahan Mejing Wetan – Perumahan Sidoarum – Stadion Sidoarum – Neutron Godean – Kantor Kecamatan Godean – Pasar Godean.
Jalur Ngaglik
- Pasar Pakem – SMP N 4 Pakem – Warung Raminten – UII –Wedangan Kampoeng – Yakkum – SMP N 2 Ngaglik – Puskesmas Ngaglik 1 – Kantor Kecamatan Ngaglik – Merapi View – Gudeg Asli – Kantor Desa Sariharjo – SPBU Pertamina 44.555.09 – Jantra Kaki-Kaki – Kring Krong Foodcourt – PLN Gardu Induk Kentungan – Pasar Kolombo – Super Indo Kaliurang – Kentungan – UGM – Vokasi UGM – RS Panti Rapih – UNY Pintu Barat – Fakultas Teknik UNY – Gejayan 1 (Grand Tjokro Hotel) – Gejayan II – Hartono Mall – Terminal Condongcatur.
Jalur Ngemplak
- UII – Yakkum – SDN Selomulyo – SMA N 2 Ngaglik – Besi Jangkang – Blue Lagoon Jogja – RS Mitra Paramedika – MTs N 3 Sleman – SMA Budi Mulia Dua – Unriyo Kampus 2 – SMK N1 Depok – Kantor Disnakertrans DIY – Satker PJN – Bandara Adisutjipto.
Seluruh biaya operasional Bus ini akan ditanggung Pemerintah Pusat dan sementara digratiskan selama setahun sambil menunggu ada lembaga yang secara khusus mengelola operasional trayeknya.
Kepala Bidang Angkutan Darat Dishub DIY Sumaryoto dikutip dari harianjogja.com mengatakan “Desain busnya tidak high deck [dek tinggi] seperti Trans Jogja, tetapi low deck [dek rendah], jadi orang turun tidak perlu menggunakan tangga. Saat ini Pemerintah Pusat sedang menyiapkan proses lelang, harapannya April 2020 sudah bisa direalisasikan,” katanya, Minggu (15/12/2019).
